Northstar Frontier Services provides remote site services; catering, housekeeping, and management to remote work camps for construction, railroad, and mining projects in Canada and the United States.

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Accounting and Human Resources teams. The position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality. The Accounting Assistant will perform various administrative tasks according to the requirements of the teams such as filing and data entry.

Base rate is $23.00/hour

Requirements

• Previous data entry, administrative or clerical experience required
• Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently
• Proficient in MS Office, databases and account software
• Experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
• Strong organizational skills and communication skills
• Adhere to company processes to maintain data accuracy, integrity and confidentiality
• Criminal background check is conducted and paid by the employer as a condition of employment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Code and enter accounts payable/VISA receipts into the accounting software
• Prepare accounts payable reports and print payment cheques
• Organize credit card receipts against statements
• Gather, review and code timesheets for payroll processing
• Assist with payroll entries
• Process and report meal counts, bed counts, and other items
• Track board sheets and sign in sheets for reporting
• Assist with entering new employees into the payroll program and employee database
• Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, data entry and record keeping
• Assist employees with Employee Self Service
• Work on ad-hoc projects and perform other duties as required
